Tablet-based career path tool for college open days
Loughborough College needed an interactive tool to help students explore career options at open days and events. A quiz-based WordPress site was built for tablet use, guiding students through questions to suggest suitable career paths.
The problem
Loughborough College runs regular career events and open days. They wanted a way for prospective students to explore career options independently, without needing staff to guide every conversation.
The tool needed to work on tablets that would be set up around event spaces. Students would answer a series of questions, and the system would suggest career paths based on their responses. Orange Fox Studios provided the designs; I was brought in to build it.
The solution
I built a WordPress site with a custom quiz interface. Each answer leads to the next question, until students reach a career suggestion with relevant college courses.
I optimised the interface for tablets: large tap targets and a linear flow that moves students through without confusion. The build took four weeks from supplied designs to launch.
